Best transport means to and from the airport
Let’s find out the best transport means to leave the airport or to arrive when it’s time to return. Everyone will need to use any and depending on where is your resort or accommodation, one of the transports below could fit better than other.

By Train
The Malaga to Fuengirola train stops at the airport. It runs from 5:32am to 11:42pm. There you can take trains to Torremolinos, Arroyo de la Miel and Fuengirola or Malaga.
Trains from Malaga’s mainline train station in the city centre leave at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour. The last train leaves at 11:45pm and a one-way ticket costs about 1€.
The high-speed train AVE, from Madrid to Malaga, started to run to the airport in January 2008.

By Bus
From Malaga airport to Malaga Bus station: Buses leave from outside departures and arrivals every 30 minutes from 6:30am to midnight.

By Taxi
There’s a large taxi rank outside the arrivals terminal, however we recommend to book in advance to save time and money. It is a fast and comfortable travel mean for those who want a fast trip but do not want to rent a car.
The transfer is probably one of the most comfortable options when not hiring a car as it will drop you in the departures gate when leaving Malaga; when arriving they will pick you up on arrivals.

By Car
For those who decide to use a Malaga car hire company, the airport is easily reached via the N-340 / A-7 highway and access is well signposted. The airport has a parking lot for about 1,450 cars and out of season there are usually plenty of spaces. There’s limited parking space in the drop-off area outside the departure terminal, but it’s best not to leave your car for long as the tow trucks are usually nearby and no one really knows how long you’re allowed to leave a car there.
Malaga airport parking is available also for those who have their own car and need a short or long term parking for returning to the airport.
