The Department of Beaches of Fuengirola Town Hall has announced that the beaches of Fuengirola obtained the highest health status of bathing waters by the Spanish Ministry of Health.
This rating refers to the bathing water of the seven beaches in the municipality which are rated as “excellent” based on surveys conducted since 2008 until today.
This popular destination on the Costa del Sol, Malaga, makes a continuous effort to ensure that the beaches have the highest quality, services, security, accessibility, etc.
Fuengirola beaches have all the services: toilets, showers, sunbeds, water sports areas, playgrounds, sports facilities, etc. There is also available free fitness equipment along the sea promenade and the river promenade; and there are reserved parking spaces along the promenade for the disabled and furthermore the first beach completely adapted for the disabled in Andalusia, dating from 2000.
Other factors adding to the excellence of Fuengirola´s coast are the collection of garbage on the beaches, fortnightly analytics to check the good water status, maintenance of beaches during the 12 months of the year and special services in the summer such as lifeguards.
